Housing Choice Voucher

The Housing Choice Voucher Program is a Federal Housing Program funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Families, elderly, disabled/handicapped people, and single people may be eligible. In order to determine preliminary eligibility, the applicant must supply our office with income information so that we can determine if he/she is income eligible.

The Housing Choice Voucher Program also has a mobility component. A Housing Choice Voucher issued by the Hollywood Housing Authority can be used anywhere in the United States, including Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

In the case that you do find an apartment, the amount you and the Hollywood Housing Authority pay to the landlord will be determined and written into the lease and contract. After the lease and contract have been signed and executed, you and the Hollywood Housing Authority will each send a share of the rent directly to the landlord.

Landlords can also list available units for rent with our office. If you are a landlord, have rental property within our jurisdiction, and wish to list your unit with our office, please call 954.989.4691 to speak to a Housing Choice Voucher Program Occupancy Specialist, or you can use our feedback form. If you are a Housing Choice Voucher Program participant looking for landlord listings, you may call or email our office.
