Public Housing Assistant

 

The Hollywood Housing Authority is seeking a Public Housing Assistant. Ideal candidates are expected to deliver exceptional customer service with prospective residents and current residents. The Public Housing Assistant will be under the direct supervision of the Public Housing Manager and will assist with the day to day property operations.

The Public Housing Assistant will need to effectively execute the following tasks daily: 

  • Provide exceptional customer service and present a professional demeanor that communicates a corporate philosophy of service, goodwill, and genuine interest in each resident's needs.
  • Answer phones and follows up appropriately with message taking according to company procedures.
  • Exercise the ability to effectively communicate with staff and upper management.
  • Transfer telephone calls to appropriate extension.
  • Assist the Public Housing Manager with day-to-day clerical office work.
  • Contributes to team efforts by communicating information properly and thoroughly.
  • Exhibit respect, professionalism, and courtesy consistently.
  • Create and develop a culture of open communication throughout the community both within and between departments, employees, and residents.
  • Participate in all training offered by employer.
  • Exercise the ability to effectively communicate with staff and upper management.
  • Observe relevant safety rules as required.
  • Must be a strong and effective communicator with high level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be friendly, energetic, punctual, self-motivated, organized, and detail oriented.
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team member with a helpful attitude.
  • Excellent ability to multi-task.
  • Creates work orders by entering them into a database and/or updates resident records and inputs new resident information into appropriate information systems, including resident services and wellness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Be proficient at Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Possess clear verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Able to follow written and verbal directions and apply practical problem-solving skills as needed.
  • Positive and energetic attitude.
  • Professional in appearance and conduct.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Pleasant telephone demeanor with professional appearance.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of standard office equipment.
     

Experience

  • Relevant: 2 years (Preferred)

Job Type: Full-time 
Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
